About Cargill

Cargill is an international producer and marketer of food, agricultural, financial and industrial products and services. Founded in 1865, our privately held company employs 142,000 people in 65 countries. Cargill helps customers succeed through collaboration and innovation, and is committed to applying our global knowledge and experience to help meet economic, environmental and social challenges wherever we do business.

Cargill opened for business in Venezuela in 1986 by purchasing the assets of Agroindustrial Mimesa (a pasta and flour business) in Maracaibo. In the ensuing years, we expanded our business through both acquisitions and organic growth in the flour, oil, animal nutrition and salt businesses producing both ingredients and retail products. We have more than 1,800 employees spread among 17 locations across Venezuela: 10 manufacturing plants, four commercial branches, one sales office, and two main offices in Caracas.
